Though the Dollhouse scribes don’t return to their Smith Coronas until next week, an insider tells me that since Paul negotiated Mellie’s freedom from the Dollhouse in the Season 1 finale, “It would seem that Miracle’s storyline has come to a close.”

Resumindo, Miracle Laurie está de volta!

Amy Acker, actriz convidada durante a primeira temporada de Dollhouse, foi contratada esta temporada para Happy Town, série da ABC e a sua presença na segunda temporada de Dollhouse ainda não foi confirmada. Se ela não voltar, será uma grande desilusão, pois tornou-se numa das personagens mais interessantes da série depois dos acontecimentos de Omega. Michael Ausiello falou com Joss Whedon e tem algumas informações sobre o assunto. Podem vê-las a seguir ao salto.

Question: Since Amy Acker’s show Happy Town has been picked up, what does that mean for Dr. Saunders on Dollhouse? Is she headed for the attic? — Mike W.

Ausiello: Not if puppetmaster Joss Whedon has anything to say about it. He tells me he’ll be “sending [Happy producers] chocolate and flowers,” he laughs. “We’re desperate to have her.” As such, he is disinclined to put another doctor in the d’house. Only if “we find out that we’re not going to use her for the bulk of the season” would he do that, he says. “[But] everyone is not going to be in every episode, so it’s perfectly possible that there will just be stories that don’t involve Dr. Saunders.”

TVGuide.com: How did you find out about the renewal? Who told you?
Eliza Dushku: I was in Uganda the past two weeks. I landed Friday night about midnight, and when I touched down the first message was a text from Joss saying, “We’re back on, kid! Get ready to raise hell!” [Laughs] It was a nice homecoming.

TVGuide.com: Kevin Reilly has been out there saying that Dollhouse’s renewal is testament to Joss’ loyal fanbase.
Dushku: The fans, the fans, the fans, absolutely. We are so grateful and just bowled over by the support and the love and the loyalty. We are so excited to do the second season because it took us until the last six or so episodes to hit our stride; now we get to really have some fun.

TVGuide.com: Will the “missing” 13th episode, “Epitaph One,” now serve as the Season 2 premiere? Or is it still DVD-only?
Dushku: You know, I dont know. I just got off the plane, so I dont know.

TVGuide.com: “Epitaph One,” which was produced on the studio’s own dime, was used to convince Fox that Dollhouse can be delivered on a smaller budget. Are there any differences the viewer might pick up on?
Dushku: No, our set is pretty solid and top dollar. I think the show will continue to be visually stunning.

TVGuide.com: So, as you filmed it, you didn’t pick up on anything different?
Dushku: Well, it was faster — and that’s always nice!

TVGuide.com: How will Echo be different going forward, considering the events of the season finale?
Dushku: Being downloaded with all the personalities, the build-up was about Echo becoming self-aware. It will give the audience a chance to connect with Echo more, because she’s not just that blank slate. There’s something behind her eyes creeping out. That’s the center of the show — can you really erase someone’s identity? The answer seems to be no.

TVGuide.com: That was nice what Paul Ballard did for Mellie, getting her released from her contract early.
Dushku: I know, right? He’s a love. We have such an amazing cast… It’s just such an honor to be a part of it. When Joss sent out that email, everyone one was just flipping out. We were really, really happy.

Eliza Dushku: Fico de roupa interior e com botas Ugg enquanto almoço na minha caravana.

Allure: Como compararias isto a filmar uma cena de amor?
Eliza Dushku: Cenas de amor são muito mais multidimensionais porque normalmente são duas pessoas que se conheceram há pouco tempo e estão todos enrolados e é mais embaraçoso do que quando posas sozinha.

Allure: Are you comfortable with nudity?
Eliza Dushku: “I grew up with three brothers, and I was never shy about covering up. It got to the point where my mom was like, ‘OK, honey, it’s time to put some clothes on now.’”

Allure: What about these days?
Eliza Dushku: “I’ll strip down to my underwear and my Ugg boots when I eat lunch in my trailer.”

Allure: How would you compare this to filming a love scene?
Eliza Dushku: “Love scenes are much more multidimensional, because often you have two people who have just met and you’re rolling around, and it’s more awkward than when you’re posing alone.”

Having grown up in Boston as the only girl in a family of three roughhousing brothers, it’s not hard to see where Eliza Dushku got her tough-as-nails demeanor. But any preconceived notions you have about Eliza are about to be eliminated thanks to her new show, Dollhouse, created by her old Buffy and Angel boss, geek god Joss Whedon.

MAXIM: You convinced Joss Whedon to come back to TV and do this show with you. How did you twist his arm?
ELIZA: I knew that if I went back to TV, I absolutely wanted it to be with him, so I invited him to lunch. He picked this fancy-schmancy restaurant, and we threw around ideas. Four hours later he came out of the bathroom and said, “The show’s going to be called Dollhouse.” That Gouda pizza I bought him was the best investment I ever made.

MAXIM: Your body looks amazing these days. Were you channeling any Hollywood icons during our shoot?
ELIZA: Ava Gardner, baby. And thanks, I feel good in my skin. I have two beefy trainers I work out with every day. I like working out with guys who tower over me with bulging muscles.

On the TCA Press Tour, Joss and Eliza took us on a tour of that set.
Oh my god, you tell me what did you think of that set?

It was huge, especially that giant room where everybody hangs out.
Doesn’t it look functional? It actually is functional. I asked Eliza if she worked out on those machines there, or if people took naps in the beautiful Zen-like garden palace they have there. The bigness of it, for me it was so overwhelming, and also really calming. The theme is Zen and relaxing, and there’s so much yoga so that these dolls are perfect. When I walked in I was like wow, feng shui really works, because I feel really good.

You’ve got the big ratings hit with NCIS, you’ve got the critical acclaim with Dexter, and now you’ve got the Joss Whedon show, which has every TV nerd in the world excited.
I’ve been pretty lucky. This has been a good year in that I’ve been able to touch a lot of things. Also the action, fast cars-type deal as a young FBI agent in Fast and Furious. I’ve gotten to touch all the genres. Dollhouse is kind of sci-fi. Joss Whedon is kind of his own thing. What’s the term for that?

It’s just Whedonesque. You have Buffy, Angel, Firefly, it’s all his own world.
Yeah, it’s Joss’ world, we just live in it.

Dizem que é do primeiro episódio, mas não há informação oficial relativamente ao assunto. No entanto, aquelas em que Eliza está na selva parecem ser do mesmo episódio. Uma com casaco, outra sem ele. Dá a sensação que Echo está a ser perseguida.

Esta é a minha preferida… Nada melhor que Dushku em calças de couro (quer dizer, excepto Dushku nua no balneário a matar vampiros na 3ª temporada de Buffy)!
